The majority of people in Haiti do not have indoor plumbing. Many have to walk to a nearby manual pump to get the water they need at their home. Some people get their water from an open well, others get their water from a stream, ditches, canals or a river. This is also why it is so important for these people to have access to the chlorine producing systems we provide.
Pumps are repaired on an as needed basis. The most common repair is replacement of the “leathers”, the leather gaskets which are located in the pump cylinder. The leather gaskets must be ordered online and shipped in. You are welcome to help purchase leathers for us or donate towards the expense of repairing a pump.
